What to do in winter

Beach walks

The beach in winter is another world. Kilometres of sand with no one around, the sound of the sea and sunsets you need to stop and photograph. A jacket and a hot coffee is all you need.

Hiking in Garraf

Winter is the best time to walk through Garraf Natural Park. Without the summer heat, the trails are much more pleasant. Mediterranean vegetation stays green and the viewpoints offer crystal-clear views.

Seasonal gastronomy

Calçots (grilled spring onions) are the star of Catalan winter. Several restaurants in Castelldefels offer calçotadas from January to March. It's also the season for stews, brothy rice dishes and local wines.

Day trips to Barcelona

Visiting Barcelona in winter is a completely different experience: no queues, no crowds and the Sagrada Familia practically to yourself. From your apartment in Castelldefels, you're 30 minutes by train.
