Castelldefels: just 20 minutes from Barcelona
One of the great advantages of Castelldefels is its proximity to Barcelona. It's just 22 km from the city centre and 10 km from El Prat airport. Getting there is easy, quick and cheap.
By train (Renfe Cercanías) — The most popular option
The commuter train is the most comfortable and affordable way to reach Castelldefels.
From Barcelona centre (Passeig de Gràcia or Sants)
- Line: R2 Sud (Renfe Cercanías)
- Time: 25-35 minutes depending on stop
- Frequency: every 10-15 minutes
- Price: ~€3.50 (single ticket) or ~€1.20 with T-Casual (10 journeys)
- Castelldefels stops: Castelldefels (centre) and Platja de Castelldefels (beach)
Tip: If you're heading to the beach, get off at Platja de Castelldefels. If your apartment is in the centre or golf area, get off at Castelldefels.
From Barcelona Airport (El Prat)
Castelldefels is incredibly close to the airport. Three options:
Train (cheapest)
- Airport T2 → Castelldefels: R2 line, 10-15 minutes, ~€2.50
- If arriving at T1: free shuttle T1→T2 (5 min), then train
Taxi (most comfortable)
- From T1 or T2: 15-20 minutes, around €25-35
- No surprises with luggage
Private transfer

By car
If you're renting a car at the airport or driving:
- From Barcelona: C-31 or C-32 motorway (toll ~€2), 20-30 minutes
- From the airport: C-31, 10-15 minutes, no toll
- Parking: most of our apartments have parking or there are free areas nearby
By bus
The L95 bus connects Castelldefels with the airport and El Prat area. It's slower than the train but can be useful if your apartment is far from the station.
Getting around Castelldefels
Once in Castelldefels, the town is very walkable. Most points of interest are less than 15 minutes on foot. For the beach, if you're in the upper area, the L95 urban bus drops you at the promenade.
